Old home movies of your grown kids

I often ask customers what prompt them to bring their VHS tapes,  old film reels, 8mm film, and other old media in to be transferred after all these years?  Why now?memories-growup

What I often hear from them: My kids are home from college.

If your kids’ memorable moments are still stuck in VHS tapes, Hi 8, or the older 8mm and 16mm film, it’s time to transfer these old media into the digital age so you can share these memories again.

Watching old home movies reminds our grown up children where they started; pull out those dusty VHS tapes in the closet and show them their happy childhood, the fun times we had, the first day of school, the school play, all those family vacations.

They’ll be reminded all over again what awesome parents you were.

We Love VHS to DVD – and You Should Too!

Transferring VHS to DVD is what we do. But it’s also what we love to do. Why? Here are some top reasons we love coming to work every day.

Our love letter to VHS to DVD!

  • Preserving the past. By transferring VHS tapes to DVDs, we ensure that the contents of those tapes are still “alive” – they can still be watched and new generations can learn about the past. Since VHS tapes don’t last forever, this also ensures that the contents of the tapes are saved before they deteriorate and can’t be viewed.
  • Creating new family memories. Imagine the looks on your children’s faces if you show them how you celebrated birthdays and holidays when you were their age! Or, introduce them to family members who passed before they were born, and show them how they have their great-grandmother’s nose.
  • Last but not least, making our customers happy! We love seeing your reactions when you watch old home movies again, after thinking they were gone forever. And we love hearing your stories about surprising your family members with the DVDs the next time you come in! It puts smiles on our faces to see smiles on yours.

We are proud to be in the memory business, and now you know why we love what we do!

The Right Way to Do Movie Transfers

Movie transfers are our business. We know what to do and what not to do. If you are shopping around for a place to transfer your VHS tapes to DVD, here are some things to keep in mind.

  • Do choose a company that does the work locally (ideally, in-house). Plenty of “discount” video transfer companies save money by sending your VHS tapes off to another country to be transferred. That sends shivers down our spines! Don’t risk your VHS tapes being lost in the mail, and don’t risk having a lab team you can’t talk to. When our customers have an issue, we can fix it for them right away since our team is right here in our store. Similarly, if we run into something unexpected or need to ask you a question, we can just give you a call – unlikely to happen if your tapes are in another country!movie transfers
  • Don’t choose a company that doesn’t give you the information you need. We make a point of being transparent, both on our website and in person when you visit us, about our process and pricing. We have a 10-point safety checklist you can peruse so you know how we treat your movies when you leave them in our care.
  • Don’t do it yourself! We hear from people all the time who tried to do their own video transfer at home with some kind of kit, and it didn’t work out well. Leave this to professionals with decades of experience.

Revisit Your Wedding – Transfer VHS Wedding Tapes

Wedding VHS to DVDWith Valentine’s Day around the corner, love is in the air. But love is also in forgotten VHS tapes at the back of your closets – that’s right, your wedding videos. Why not take another spin across that dance floor? We would be happy to transfer your VHS wedding tapes to DVD so that you can relive those magical moments.

Snuggle up with your spouse to watch yourselves say “I do” again – or give the gift of love to a couple in your life and let them relive their special day. And if that special day was captured on film, rather than on VHS tape, don’t worry. We can transfer that, too.

But remember – your love has lasted through the years, but your VHS tapes may not last much longer. Don’t let those important memories fade away.

VHS to DVD For a Last-Minute Gift!

That’s right, it’s that time of year again… time to rack your brains for a last minute gift idea for that special someone who is so hard to buy for. We are here to help! Have you considered transferring an old VHS tape to DVD for them? You might think that would take too long to be ready in time. But no! If you are just transferring one VHS tape, we can get that done for you in about a week. No VHS tapes? No problem! We can also transfer an 8mm film, or even some slides or photos.

Even better… you can make the present into a surprise, like our customer in this video. How fun!

And once you have surprised your loved one with the DVD of their old treasured memories, come back in and tell us all about it! We love to hear that you made someone’s day by preserving their memories.
